How do we want to accomplish this vision?
We see three pillars or elements as essential for a sustained effort of reformation. These make up the three areas of ministry of the work of R2G:
Church Planting
The church is at the center of our efforts. God’s plan centers in and around the church as Christ’s body. All the other elements of our strategy are at best extensions of the church proper. Even the evangelism, which is the heart of our work, is not a goal in itself, but must lead to the planting of healthy and functioning churches. Through the planting of confessionally Reformed, healthy, evangelistic, God-glorifying churches that rely on the use of the ordained, God-given means of grace, we seek the establishment of a Reformed church (denomination) in Germany – the Selbständige Evangelisch-Reformierte Kirche in Deutschland (SERK), or Free Evangelical-Reformed Church of Germany (FERC).
Publishing
The 16th Century reformation without solid, Bible-saturated books would have been unthinkable. And so would the reformation of the 21st Century. We see publishing as part of the larger objective of creating a “Reformed atmosphere” in which people can learn and understand the Reformed faith and life. In order to help believers grow, we seek to publish books & websites.
Theologial Education
Wherever a great work of reformation is to be sustained, ministers of the gospel need to be trained and taught. Since we believe in the importance of well-trained offiers, we seek to provide training for future ministers/church planters that will be ready to go into other cities in Germany to plant such churches.
All three pillars will be needed in order to initiate and to sustain the work of reformation. We do not want to plant simply “a church”. By God’s grace, we want to see a movement of churches come into existence that is there to stay. For that purpose, all three elements will need to feed into each other and mutually reinforce one another.
